The GOOD NEWS

We believe that with all the Bad News in the World today, you should know the GOOD NEWS!

Jesus Loves You!

You may have heard someone say these words, or maybe you saw it on a sign. It may stir your thoughts or even make you uncomfortable and mad. It may cause you to give thanks, or may just make you turn away. But something happens when we hear these words.

So why is the love of Jesus so important? Well to answer that we must go all the way back to the beginning. The Bible teaches that we (humans) were made perfect. We even were able to meet daily and walk with God (Genesis 3:8). Wouldn’t that be cool? I bet we would all have a million questions.

Anyway, these humans soon broke the one rule that they had.(Romans 5:12) Can you imagine going through life with only one rule? Well, this broke the closeness of the relationship. God couldn’t walk with His creation any longer. This meant that after our life was over there would be punishment instead of being with God. So, mankind tried for a long time to make things right enough to be accepted and to be able to see God again, but to no use. Nothing was ever accepted as a payment for this SIN. Yeah, I know, nobody likes the word sin. It is so accusing. Sin is when we do wrong things. But there had to be a payment for sin, and no-one had found something acceptable for thousands of years.(Hebrews 10:4)

We are almost to the good part!

So, little did the humans know, but God had been planning a way to make things right since the beginning. God is actually kind of complicated. He has three parts; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Well, God the Son is…Jesus. Jesus came to Earth about 2,000 years ago, born just like you and me. If you don’t believe me check your history books, he’s in there. Okay, so Jesus lived a perfect life. He didn’t have all the problems with sin that we have.(Hebrews 4:15) The plan that God had come up with was genius. He sent Jesus here to Earth to die for us. This meant that Jesus would be the only human to ever die without sinning.

Jesus was crucified at the age of 33, and his payment for sin was accepted by God the Father. You might be wondering how we know this.??? Well, Jesus was dead for three days, but He didn’t stay dead. What?!!! That’s right. God the Father actually raised Jesus to prove to all of us that He was the only true payment for sin. Jesus had over 500 people see Him alive before He left this Earth. Romans 3:24 says that, “Jesus freed us from the penalty of our sin.”

That is Great News!

But, there is something we humans must do…Believe. Acts 16:31 says that if we, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ”, we will be saved. We will be saved from being separated from God. What’s even better is that we don’t have to die before we have a relationship with God again. The Holy Spirit, that is the 3rd part of God, actually comes and lives within us when we believe. He gives us a new perspective on life, giving us warnings about sin and comforting us when things go bad.(John 14:26) The bonus is, we get to live perfectly with Him for all of eternity.

(John 3:16) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

So, my question is to you…Do You Believe??? If so, tell God right now that you know you have done wrong things and sinned against Him, just like the first humans did. Tell Him that you are sorry and would like His forgiveness. Let God know that you believe that Jesus was the only accepted sacrifice for sin and that you believe in Him. Ask God to send His Spirit to live within you and help you to stay in a good relationship with Him from now on.

If you did this, and believed, let us know. We are so happy for you! Drop us a line at stancils.missions@gmail.com and let us know.

We want to help you find a good group of people to help answer many of the questions that you might have about your new belief in Jesus. Then we want you to tell others all about Him!!!
